【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminethetimetosustainedflamingandheatreleaseofmaterialsandcompositesexposedtoaprescribedinitialtestheatfluxintheconecalorimeterapparatus.Quantitativeheatreleasemeasurementsprovideinformationthatcanbeusedforupholsteryandmattressproductdesignsandproductdevelopment.Heatreleasemeasurementsprovideusefulinformationforproductdevelopmentbyyieldingaquantitativemeasureofspecificchangesinfireperformancecausedbycomponentandcompositemodifications.Heatreleasedatafromthistestmethodwillnotbepredictiveofproductbehavioriftheproductdoesnotspreadflameoveritssurfaceunderthefireexposureconditionsofinterest.TestLimitations8212;Thetestdataareinvalidifeitherofthefollowingconditionsoccur:(1)explosivespalling;or(2)thespecimenswellssufficientlypriortoignitiontotouchthesparkplug,orthespecimenswellsuptotheplaneoftheheaterbaseduringcombustion.1.1Thisfire-test-responsetestmethodcanbeusedtodeterminetheignitabilityandheatreleasefromthecompositesofcontract,institutional,orhigh-riskoccupancyupholsteredfurnitureormattressesusingabenchscaleoxygenconsumptioncalorimeter.1.2Thistestmethodprovidesformeasurementofthetimetosustainedflaming,heatreleaserate,peakandtotalheatrelease,andeffectiveheatofcombustionataconstantinitialtestheatfluxof35kW/m2.Thistestmethodisalsosuitabletoobtainheatreleasedataatdifferentheatingfluxes.Thespecimenisorientedhorizontally,andasparkignitionsourceisused.1.3Thetimestosustainedflaming,heatrelease,andeffectiveheatofcombustionaredeterminedusingtheapparatusandproceduresdescribedinTestMethodE1354.1.4Thetestsareperformedonbench-scalespecimenscombiningthefurnitureormattressouterlayercomponents.Frameelementsarenotincluded.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSection6.
